Cheryl Cole is set to give her former mentor Simon Cowell a huge kick in the teeth… by performing on bitter rival talent show The Voice. Everybody’s favourite Geordie star is being lined up to sing on the BBC’s flagship programme, which goes head-to-head with Britain’s Got Talent in a colossal ratings battle this spring.

And her manager Black Eyed Peas Will.i.am tells me exclusively that he’s thrilled to be annoying the big dawg himself Simon Cowell in the process. Will, who is on The Voice’s judging panel revealed: “I want her on the Voice. I mean why not? That would really p*** the big man off wouldn’t it. “This is her year by the way - Cheryl is back! You all gonna love her new music - it’s on it, on the money.”The move will no doubt­ ­infuriate Cowell, 52, who has already said he believes the Beeb have “declared war” on him and ITV by pitting their show directly against BGT.

Cowell said: “It is 100 per cent a declaration of war. They launched The Voice because they don’t like BGT and X Factor being successful.”And the 28-year-old Geordie’s ­ ­appearance on the BBC will really hurt him as he feels he gave the Fight For This Love singer her big break. Even though he sacked her from the US X Factor he still wanted her back on the UK X Factor but Will.i.am blocked the move.

“He wouldn’t let Cheryl call Simon and the production team,” says my source. ­“Simon and all the producers were ­gutted.”The US rapper fanned the flames again last week when he belittled the ITV1 show, saying: “Cheryl won’t do X Factor. Why does she need it?”

Last night a TV source said: “Cheryl has been working on new material for months. She is determined to relaunch herself as a credible artist and The Voice will be the perfect platform to showcase her latest tracks. “The fact her manager is on the judging panel means it’s an absolute no-brainer for her.”

The BBC paid huge sums to form a celebrity panel including Will.i.am, Tom Jones, Jessie J and Danny O’Donoghue from The Script. I went down to see the show and I’m genuinely excited for it. It works. It’s fresh. And there’s ­genuine talent. Thank God.

Cheryl Cole and MC Harvey got caught up in one of the best celeb Twitter rows we've ever seen earlier this week. However, it seems that Cheryl isn't letting this one lie with reports that she's seeking legal action against Harvey. Harvey gave an interview to Now magazine in which he claimed to have had a relationship with Cheryl after her split from ex-husband Ashley in 2010.

"It was like two people who'd gone through so much and both respected each other because of it," Harvey told the magazine. "I wouldn't have minded Cheryl being my wife!" However, Cheryl hit back at the rapper on Twitter saying: "Was this "relationship" happening in your head?! Are you smoking something ?" Cheryl Cole has reportedly taken legal action against claims of a relationship with MC HarveyHarvey then threatened to expose personal messages between the pair that he claims to have: "

"Do you actually want me to tweet some of the messages you emailed me @cherylcole pipe down and stop playing the saint in front of your fans." But reports have emerged today that Chez is so angry about the whole thing, that she's instructed lawyers to challenge Now magazine over the claims. We're VERY interested to see how this unfolds.

Nicola Roberts has voiciferously defended Cheryl Cole over MC Harvey's claims he has emails proving they had a secret relationship - by jokingly claiming the former X Factor judge would rather have phone sex.

Cheryl's Girls Aloud bandmate weighed in on the So Solid rapper after her friend became embroiled in an unseemly Twitter row with So Solid Crew rapper Harvey.

The rapper and former husband of Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon claimed they shared a romance in 2010 when she split from ex-husband Ashley Cole.

When she denied the connection, he said he had emails to prove it. Speaking out about the drama, Nicola tweeted last night: 'Emails..?? I think someone's been having you on mate..'

Cheryl re-tweeted the two comments and added: 'spat my tea out* Lmfao..' Yesterday, she wrote on her Twitter page she was baffled by news of their apparent romance in a magazine interview this week.

Alesha Dixon's ex-husband MC Harvey has claimed to of had a secret romance with Cheryl Cole following her split from footballer, Ashley Cole - stating he would have married the Girls Aloud babe. In an interview with Now magazine, the ex-So Solid Crew star has revealed he became close to Cheryl in 2010 and helped her through her divorce from Ashley - dismissing reports that she was seeing dancer, Derek Hough.

Despite refusing to confirm they were in a relationship, he told the mag: "We've known each other for years. But then [after Cheryl split with Ashley] we started confiding in each other. A lot of it was like: 'We can't trust anyone out there, so we're just gonna trust each other'."

When probed about his 'romantic dates' with the Geordie, Harvey exclaimed: "I promised her loyalty and I can't break that. There was an attraction. That comes when you talk to people and Cheryl's a nice girl. "We talked about music. I told her: 'Cheryl, you haven't got the strongest vocals, but… [Laughs] You could chill with Cheryl. She's just cool.

"But in terms of anything we exchanged or any words that were said, I'd never disclose that stuff. It's personal. When Cheryl reads this, she'll be like: 'Aww, he was loyal to me'."

The 21 Seconds hitmaker, who knew Chezza's ex-hubby Ashley from his days as footballer, continued: "I've known Ashley since I was a kid. I don't get his lifestyle. People like me learn when we do bad things, but some people don't learn, do they?

"If I'd be given a second chance [like Ashley was], I'd literally have stayed in the house like it was a prison. I'd have travelled home every night to be with her, even if I was playing in Leeds or whatever, so she'd feel more comfortable. Ashley was crazy. He knows not to come near me."

Speaking of why their romance ended, Harvey explained: "She's a good person, but after she finished her last series of The X Factor and went to America, that was it.

"I just think that at the time, with the amount of stress she was going through with her own stuff and what I'd also been through, I wouldn't have been right for her. Maybe we were both scared of the pressure. I was scared. I was thinking: 'Am I ready for all this again?'

He added: "The conversations we had…it was like two people who'd gone through so much and both respected each other because of it. "I wouldn't have minded Cheryl being my wife! I cracked up when people said she was with Derek Hough. I was like: 'You're so far off!'

Cheryl Cole has been very quiet on the music front for a long time. However, it seems that we won't have to wait too long to hear her latest offerings, after rumours emerged that she's set to debut her new single on The Voice.

Cheryl's manager and good pal will.i.am is set to be a coach on the new talent show, so it'd make sense for the Fight For This Love singer to take to the stage when the show begins in the spring.

"Cheryl's manager will.i.am is obviously a judge on the show so he's already been talking to producers to get the ball rolling," a source said.

"The BBC are desperate to beat Cowell and Britain's Got Talent in the ratings and they know there's no better way to do that than by getting Cheryl to perform her new single for the very first time live on the show," the source continued.

We all know that Chez is a ratings winner - millions of viewers tuned in to watch her perform debut single Fight For This Love on The X Factor. And how annoyed would Simon Cowell be to see the Geordie lass stealing viewers from BGT?!

Cheryl Cole is reportedly planning to give the first performance of her new single on upcoming BBC reality show The Voice. The 'Fight For This Love' singer is currently working on her third studio album and is said to be lining up a slot on The Voice this spring for her return performance.

"Cheryl should be releasing her single when The Voice is on TV so it makes sense to combine the two," a source told the Daily Star this week. "Cheryl's manager will.i.am is obviously a judge on the show so he's already been talking to producers to get the ball rolling.

"Cheryl would be a massive ratings winner and scoop for The Voice," they explained. "Although it's not a done deal yet, it's only the pen and paper bit that needs to be completed."Earlier this week will.i.am insisted Cheryl would "never" go back to The X Factor as a judge and deserves to host a television show of her own.

The 'Heartbreaker' rapper also revealed he has heard the majority of the '3 Words' singer's new album and promised fans it "really has the goods". The Voice UK is due to launch on BBC1 in March

Will.i.am has reportedly been quizzing Cheryl Cole on her X Factor experience in order to help him on The Voice UK. According to The Sun, the pair have met over dinner in order to discuss both shows.

A source told the tabloid: “They’ve met for dinner and hung out. He’s been quizzing her on her experience on UK TV.” Will.i.aim joined X Factor rival The Voice earlier this year, and will be judging the show alongside the likes of Tom Jones and Jessie.

The series starts on BBC One this Spring, going head to head with Simon Cowell’s other TV talent show Britain’s Got Talent.

It’s been a while since Cheryl Cole and Will.i.am have out and about together, but the best buds have been spotted catching up on cosy dinner dates in recent weeks, after the rapper arrived in town for his stint on The Voice.

The Black Eyed Peas star is getting ready to join the team on the brand new singing show which launches in the UK this spring, alongside other panellists Jessie J, Tom Jones and Danny O'Donoghue.

And he’s been getting the lowdown on what to expect from working on British TV, from the former X Factor judge. "They've met for dinner and hung out. He's been quizzing her on her experience on UK TV,” a source told The Sun.

But it seems that Will.i.am isn’t just concerned about making sure his own TV career goes without a hitch – he’s also been planning BFF Cheryl’s return to the small screen. Will.i.am, who is also Cheryl’s manager, revealed that he’s on the lookout for the perfect show for Cole to front, following her axe from X Factor USA - just days after Simon Cowell admitted he’d love to see the star return to the singing show.

He told the Mirror: “Cheryl won’t do X Factor. Why does she need it?

“Why are you going to make someone else rich? Cheryl needs her own show.”Will added: “Cheryl Cole was current on X Factor [USA]. She was the only one on the panel with musical experience of what it feels like to go through that process.

“That’s how she made it into the industry, by doing Popstars. Paula Abdul was an artist – but she wasn’t current at the time.”Will.i.am isn’t the only person to think Cheryl should front her own show though – according to reports at the start of January this year, TV bosses are desperate to sign the star up to front a magazine show provisionally titled Late Night With Cheryl.

A source told Star magazine: “They know she’ll be a massive ratings winner and is the perfect fit to pull in amazing guests.”Simon and Cheryl are also said to be working on plans for a brand new talent show – but we’re not sure Will.i.am will be too happy about that…

With her new album set for release in March and a burgeoning film career on the horizon following a cameo in What To Expect When You’re Expecting, it looks like Miss Cole is in for a very busy 2012!

According to Heat, he could also be Cheryl’s perfect match as he is “wealthy but not flashy” and shares her passion for pooches. Could a burger at Hard Rock café be on the cards for Cheryl this Valentine’s day?
