Cheryl Cole wasn't comfortable getting glammed up in the early Girls Aloud days and wanted to keep her tomboy look. ‘I'd argue with the stylist and the girls to wear trainers all the time,' reveals Cheryl, 26. It took some time for the singer to get into stilettos and sexy gowns.

‘About 3 years ago, I started to realise if you wear a pair of heels you feel more womanly. It was a "penny drop" moment,' Cheryl admits. ‘I'd snap me neck for shoes and a handbag now.'Cheryl is sure she'll grow even more confident about her own style with age. 'I've got this theory that when you hit your 30s you become you forever,' she tells Stylist. 'I always look at women in their 30s and they're just them, they know exactly who they are and what suits them.'
